So, I’ve played for a few semesters in my university’s Calypso Band, which is probably one of the best Steel Pan ensembles in the entire country. There are a lot of videos of the Humboldt State University Calypso Band on Youtube, but only today did I find out that there are two videos of the band with me playing in it. Awesome!

If you’re curious who I am, I’m in the middle row, on the left side; the one who is getting WAY too down, and looks like he has a bald spot going right down the middle of his head. …I’m not sure why it looks like that; I can tell you straight up that I’m not bald, heh! If that doesn’t help, look at the second song, at about 1:15, and you can see me on the left, just to the left of the pretty blonde girl.
I miss being in that group; playing a Steel Pan is really challenging, and I just love to dance. I know I’m not that great at it, but anything can be infectious if it’s done with confidence, and I get a lot of legitimate praise for my bad dancing, so I must be doing it right!
Most of all, though, it’s just nice to be able to show my friends from all around what I really do with myself when I’m not doing video games. I love showing people things about my life, and likewise, I like learning more about people I know. I hope you enjoy the music.
